We’re so glad to have you with us! As you begin your year with us in Hillsboro, we wanted to share a few things about how to get connected with your local Association, as well as some resources to help you have a great year.
STEP 1: Become a Member!
Please use this electronic form to become a member of the Hillsboro Education Association. If you were previously a member of your local association in a different Oregon school district, it is necessary to update your membership form, as registration in your new district is not automatic.
If you are interested in matching up to a union mentor, please indicate your interest by submitting this form “Yes, I would love a Mentor!“

Meet your HEA Leadership
Our local association is led by our Executive Board, and each building has building representatives ready to help you with questions or concerns about your contract, working conditions, etc. Feel free to reach out at any time!
Sick Leave Bank Information
Members who use all of their sick leave due to an extended illness or injury may apply for additional sick days from our sick leave pool. Visit this page for additional information and how to apply.

Your HEA bargaining team will be bargaining your next contract during the 2023-2024 school year. More information will be posted here.
STEP 3: Get Connected
Connect With A Mentor
HEA applied for and received an OEA grant that allows union mentors to support new members with the contract and help them thrive professionally. Click here for additional details.
Attend a Meeting
Zoom in weekly during our member office hours, Thursdays 4pm – 5pm.
Attend a Bargaining Session
All bargaining sessions with the District are open to the public. We encourage all members to attend and support your bargaining team. Your HEA bargaining team will be bargaining your next contract during the 2023-2024 school year. More information will be posted here.
